The brief
Let customers order a letter with their own words.
The client offered a way to send a physical letter to someone you care about. Customers would write their own message, while a template and handwriting-style font gave the letter its appearance.
Through an agency partner, we built the brochure website, ecommerce functionality and a mobile application for the service. The site needed to explain the service, then carry the customer through choosing a template, writing a message and paying for the letter.
The goal
Collect the message as part of checkout.
Customers needed to supply their message as well as choose a template. We needed to make both part of the order process.
The public pages explained the service before customers placed an order. From there, they could move into choosing and paying for their letter.
- Explain the service
- Build the public pages introducing the personalised letter service and how customers could order.
- Choose the template and write the message
- Let customers choose a template and enter their own message at checkout.
- Complete the purchase online
- Provide the ecommerce functionality for customers to pay for a physical letter.
Our approach
Develop the website, checkout and mobile app.
We developed the site using WordPress and WooCommerce, covering both the brochure content and ecommerce functionality. Customers could learn about the service and proceed into the order process from the same website. We also developed a mobile application as part of the project.
We customised checkout so customers could write the message for their letter while placing the order. They chose a template, and the text used a font that resembled handwriting.
Brochure website
We built the pages that introduced the service and explained the idea of sending a personalised physical letter.
Mobile application
We developed a mobile app as part of the same project, alongside the brochure website and ecommerce build.
Template selection
Customers could choose a template for their letter before completing the order.
Message entry at checkout
We customised the purchase flow so customers could write the message for their loved one as part of checkout.
Letter presentation and payment
The service used handwriting-style text for the letter, with online payment included in the ecommerce journey.
The outcome
A complete online order for a personal letter.
We delivered a brochure and ecommerce website alongside a mobile application. The website combined an explanation of the service with the tools to purchase it. Customers could select a template, enter a personal message and pay to send a physical letter to a loved one.
Each website order included the customer’s message, entered at checkout, with text styled to resemble handwriting.
