Web design and development for businesses in Richmond upon Thames
Felix Web Solutions is a south-west London studio, a short drive from Richmond. We design and build websites and web apps for businesses that are judged on how they look and on whether the booking goes through. Clear scope, a repository you own, and optional support after launch.
Restaurants and hotels, retail and galleries, clinics and consultancies, creative and media firms. If the site is part of the product, start here.
Two audiences, both judging on sight
Richmond has an unusual asset for a London town, which is the view. The one from Richmond Hill has been protected by Act of Parliament since 1902. The Green, the riverside, the Park and Kew a few minutes north bring a steady flow of visitors on top of an affluent resident population.
So businesses here serve two audiences. Residents who will use you for years and judge you on consistency, and visitors deciding on a phone, often standing outside, where to eat or stay. The second group has never heard of you. They are working from a search result, a photograph, and how long the page takes to appear.
Presentation does more work in a market like this than in a trade where you are found by phone. Hospitality, retail and private practice are largely judged on how they look before anyone reads a word — and a beautiful site that takes too long to load loses to a plain one that does not, which is why we treat design and performance as one job rather than two.
What we build for Richmond businesses
Design
Structure first, then pages designed against your real content — and a design system rather than a set of one-off layouts if you publish often. Accessibility and the performance budget are decided in the design file, where they are cheap.

Design-led business websites
Built from a real design rather than a purchased theme, with photography treated as a first-class part of the build — sized, cropped and compressed against the performance budget, so a full-bleed image does not become the thing that blows it.

Bookings, tables and payments
Reservation, appointment and enquiry flows that land in the system you already run on, including deposit and payment handling where the platform supports it. If you are tied to a particular booking platform, we integrate with it rather than asking you to change how the business works.
Multi-location
More than one site, venue or clinic: one codebase, per-location pages and opening hours, and editing rights that stop a manager in one venue changing another. Where that runs on WordPress multisite, see WordPress development.
WordPress, speed and recovery
Custom themes, the block editor and ACF, plugins and migrations — without page builders. See WordPress development.
Core Web Vitals work on a site that has become slow, and proper cleanup on a hacked install. See website support and maintenance. We take both on, usually starting with a written assessment rather than a blank rebuild quote.
Care after launch
Updates, backups, monitoring and fixes on a published SLA. Optional — see website support and managed hosting.
Richmond and nearby
We cover Richmond, Twickenham, St Margarets, East Sheen, Mortlake, Kew and Ham. Our studio is in New Malden, so this is a short drive rather than a cross-London trip. Remote projects are fine too, with the same written scope and the same handover.
Nearby pages: Twickenham, Kingston upon Thames, Wimbledon and New Malden.
Every town with a page of its own is listed on where we work.
The process is the same wherever you are: brief, written scope, staging URL early, documented handover. It is set out step by step on web development.
Questions we get asked
Are you based in Richmond?
No — our studio is in New Malden, a short drive away. We are happy to meet in Richmond for discovery and handover; we are not going to claim an address we do not have.
We have a brand and a designer already. Can you just build it?
Yes. Bring the files and the design system if there is one. We will flag anything that will not survive contact with a real browser before we start rather than after.
Do you work with our existing booking platform?
In most cases. Name it at brief stage — if it has an API we integrate with it, and if it does not we will tell you what that costs you in practice.
We have more than one venue. One site or several?
Almost always one, with per-location pages, hours and editing rights that stop a manager in one venue changing another. Separate sites multiply the maintenance and spread your search presence across domains that each have to earn it independently.
