Web design and development for businesses in Wimbledon
Felix Web Solutions is a studio in New Malden, two stops out from Wimbledon. We design and build websites, web applications and internal tools. Clear scope, a repository you own, and optional support after launch.
Town-centre offices and agencies, independents up in the Village, clinics, schools and professional firms. Whether it is a site or software with a site attached, start here.
Two towns with a hill between them
Wimbledon is two towns with a hill between them. Down by the station and Wimbledon Quarter, the shopping centre formerly called Centre Court, is the commercial half: offices, agencies, professional firms, chains, and a station a large part of south London passes through. Up the hill the Village is independent retail, restaurants, private clinics and estate agents, backing onto the Common. Ten minutes apart, different markets.
In a town centre full of offices, agencies and professional firms, the work is often internal rather than public. A process that outgrew a spreadsheet, a client portal someone promised during a pitch, two systems that need to talk to each other. The Village needs a shopfront that looks like it belongs on that street. We build both, and at brief stage the answer is often that the simpler one is what you actually need.
Then there is the fortnight. For two weeks each summer the tennis pushes a hard, concentrated spike of visitors through SW19, and businesses nowhere near Church Road feel it. Merton reports town-centre footfall up around 20% for the fortnight. Worth raising at scope: a site sized for an ordinary Tuesday may not hold up, and the fortnight is an expensive time to find that out.
What we build for Wimbledon businesses
Design
Type scale, spacing, buttons, cards, forms and states designed once and reused — which matters more than a homepage mockup once you have an app and a marketing site that need to look like the same company.
Full detail on web design.
Business and practice websites
A site that loads fast, explains what you do, and is editable without calling a developer for every copy change. Built from a real design and a content model that matches how you publish — not a purchased theme with the colours swapped.
See also web design and web development.
Web applications and internal tools
Portals, dashboards, booking and quoting systems, member areas — the things that start as a spreadsheet and stop working at about thirty users. Built with real accounts, permissions, an audit trail and somewhere for the data to go.
If it is specifically about customer records and internal process, that is CRM and intranets.
Integrations
Connecting the site to the systems that already run the business — payment providers, CRMs, stock and accounting systems, email platforms, internal databases. Including the ones with documentation written in 2013.
WordPress, speed and recovery
Custom themes, the block editor and ACF, plugins and migrations — without page builders. See WordPress development.
Core Web Vitals work on a site that has become slow, and proper cleanup on a hacked install. See website support and maintenance. We take both on, usually starting with a written assessment rather than a blank rebuild quote.
Care after launch
Updates, backups, monitoring and fixes on a published SLA. Optional — see website support and managed hosting.
Wimbledon and nearby
We cover Wimbledon town centre and the Village, Raynes Park, Southfields, Merton Park, Colliers Wood and Morden. Our studio is in New Malden, two stops out. Remote projects are fine too, with the same written scope and the same handover.
Nearby pages: New Malden, Kingston upon Thames and Richmond.
Every town with a page of its own is listed on where we work.
The process is the same wherever you are: brief, written scope, staging URL early, documented handover. It is set out step by step on web development.
Questions we get asked
Do we need an application, or will a website do?
Usually a website with two good forms. We will say so if that is the answer — it is a smaller project, and telling you that at the start is worth more to us than the difference in fee.
Our process lives in a spreadsheet that keeps breaking. Where do we start?
Send the spreadsheet. We would rather read how the work actually happens than run a discovery workshop about it.
Our traffic spikes for a fortnight every summer. Can the site take it?
Yes, and it is worth naming at scope. Caching, hosting and the load path get sized for the peak rather than the average, agreed at scope, with the load target written down.
Can the internal tool and the public site share a login?
Yes, and it is worth deciding at scope rather than later — retrofitting a shared login across two systems that were built apart is a much bigger job than agreeing it up front.
