behind Filmstro’s music tools.

We built Filmstro’s website and the music library backend used by its web app and Premiere Pro extension. The work includes custom WordPress plugins, licensing, API integrations and shareable music widgets, with hosting and maintenance continuing after launch.

The brief

The public website and the systems behind it.

Filmstro creates music tools for filmmakers and content creators. Its website introduces the product, explains licensing and gives visitors a way to try the music before choosing how to use it.

Both the browser application and Premiere Pro extension needed access to the music library. That made the backend, custom plugins and API integrations part of the website project.

We worked directly with Filmstro from planning and design through development and launch. We also took on hosting, maintenance and technical support after launch.

The goal

Let visitors try the music. Give both apps access to it.

Visitors needed to understand the product and hear what it could do. Shareable music widgets would let them listen and try the controls without opening a full editing application.

The backend had a different job: serve the music library to both apps. The work also needed to cover licensing and the API connections between systems.

Our approach

Build the website, plugins and music backend.

We designed and built the public website in WordPress. Numerous custom plugins handle requirements specific to Filmstro’s music service.

We developed the music library backend used by the two apps and the API integrations that connect the systems. Licensing functionality and shareable music widgets were also part of our development work.

Before launch, we handled technical SEO, performance and accessibility work, then tested the website and prepared it for release. We provided a handover and continue to host and maintain the site.

  1. Plan and build the website

    We handled planning, project communication and design, then built the WordPress website around Filmstro’s product and content.

  2. Develop custom plugins

    We developed numerous WordPress plugins for requirements specific to Filmstro’s service.

  3. Connect the music library

    We built the backend serving music to both the web app and Premiere Pro extension, together with the required API integrations.

  4. Support licensing and sharing

    We built the licensing functionality and widgets for sharing music outside the full apps.

  5. Look after the live website

    We provide hosting, maintenance and technical support. The partnership gives Filmstro an ongoing point of contact for website fixes and changes.

The outcome

One music backend serving two apps.

Visitors can learn about Filmstro’s tools and try the music through shareable widgets. The WordPress website includes the custom plugins, licensing functionality and API integrations built for the service.

Both apps use the music library backend. Their editing interfaces are separate projects; this case study covers the website and the backend they rely on.

We continue to host and maintain the website and provide technical support directly to Filmstro.
